Freedom Writers - Rui Oliveira and José Diogo's opinion

(Another opinion translated by our teacher)

"We liked this film a lot, because it shows how a "newbie" teacher deals with a very undisciplined, hardcore class with students from diverse origins, family and social backgrounds. She was very patient, determined and dedicated to her students and she tried to change some of her students' ways in life and some aspects of their personality. Some months later, she earned their trust and they started to be looked at differently at school. In the end of the movie, all students were getting along fine with each other.

This movie also tells us about gang violence, racism and the differences between races.

In our opinion, this film was very interesting and educational. We have learned that our actions shouldn't depend on our race or colour, but on what we are."

Freedom Writers - I Have A Dream

This was the movie our class watched last week and here's one trailer.

And these are our opinions that the teacher translated for us:

" We liked the movie because in the beginning they hated each other, as they belonged to enemy gangs.
One day, a new teacher started working with this hardcore class. At first, she didn't understand why they hated each other.
In our opinion, this film shows us that we can't judge others without knowing them first.
Our favourite part was when the teacher offered all students a notebook where they were expected to write about...their lives, their past, their family...whatever they wanted.
In the end of the movie, all students and the teacher became close friends and understood each other a lot better."
