School trip to Caminha

Here they are! My «famous» CEF students.
I'm in this photo with Helena too, their teacher of Physical Education. We can't see Luis, the CEF «leader» because he is the one taking the photo. We all look happy don't we? Well, we really had a great time! Hope to go back next year... who knows...?

A visit to Esprominho

On the 22nd April we visited Esprominho, a professional school in Sameiro. We left at about 1.30 and arrived at about 2 o'clock. We were very well received and we had the chance of meeting old friends and colleagues. The sudents spent most of the time playing computer games and mingling with the other students. The teachers took a chance to relax for a while. It was a short but fruitful visit. I think we all had a great time and a future visit is mandatory...

Bizarre piercing

Body piercing as become fashionable amongst youngsters (and some oldsters). It involves inserting metal objects in to places in the body that really don’t need to have metal objects in them. Some people have become so fascinated by this practice that they have “extreme” piercings. Self-piercing is very dangerous, and you should NOT do it. Using a safety pin is also even more dangerous when self-piercing. You never know what might happen. It may get infected easily, since the sterilization methods aren't present. Get it done professionally! Please don't try this at home!

drugs

A psychoactive drug or psychotropic substance is a chemical substance that acts primarily upon the central nervous system where it alters brain function, resulting in temporary changes in perception, mood, consciousness and behavior. These drugs may be used recreationally to purposefully alter one's consciousness, as entheogens for ritual or spiritual purposes, as a tool for studying or augmenting the mind, or therapeutically as medication.

smoking

Smoking is a practice where a substance, most commonly tobacco, is burned and the smoke tasted or inhaled. This is primarily done as a form of recreational drug use, as combustion releases the active substances in drugs such as nicotine and makes them available for absorption through the lungs. It can also be done as a part of rituals, to induce trances and spiritual enlightenment. The most common method of smoking today is through cigarettes, either industrially manufactured or rolled with loose tobacco and a rolling paper. Other forms, though not as common, are pipes, cigars, hookahs and bongs.
